Andrei Volokitin was born on 18th June 1986.

1997 - 1st place on Ukrainian Youth Championship under 12

1998

  • 1-2 place on World Championship under 12

1999

  • 1-3 place on World Championship under 14
  • 1st place as a member of Ukrainian team on Youth Olympiad
  • 1st place on 1st board on tournament “Amoco Cup” in Baku

2000

  • achieved the title norms of International Master on tournaments in Lviv, Krasnodar, Lausanne
  • successful play in Bad Wiessee Open, where he scored 7 points out of 9

2001

  • Beated Ruslan Ponomariov sensationally on tournament in Lausanne
  • European Championship in Ohrid (Macedonia) Andrei gained his first Grandmaster’s norm and right to participate in World Championship 2001
  • 3rd place on “Vidmar Memorial” (14th category) in Portorož and gained his 2nd Grandmaster’s norm
  • shared 2-3 places on especially strong Championship of Ukraine and gained his 3rd GM norm
  • on Bad Wiessee Open scored 7/9, took 5th place out of 512 participants and gained his 4th GM norm
  • Played in World Championship in Moscow
  • In December of 2001 was awarded with Grandmaster’s title being 15 year old

2002

  • 1-3 place on tournament in Saint Vincent (Italy)
  • 2nd place as a result of Europe Grand Prix - 2001
  • 2nd place on Ukrainian Club Championship as a member of Lviv team “Karpathy-Galychyna”
  • 3rd place in Esbjerg (14th category)
  • 3rd place in Bastia (France)
  • 2nd place in rapid chess in Warsaw (Poland), twice won against Ivanchuk and being ahead about 50 Grandmasters

2003

  • 1st place in open-tournament on Bermudas
  • 1-2 place in rapid chess in Aurice (France)
  • 1st place in blitz Utrecht (Holland), scoring 30,5 points out of  32
  • 3rd place on open-tournament in Batumi

2004

  • Champion of 36th Chess Olympiad as a member of Ukrainian team, where he scored 8,5 points out of 12
  •  Winner of 73rd Championship of Ukraine

2005

  • Shared 1-2 place with Boris Gelfand on famous Biel tournament, Switzerland (16th Category)
  • 2nd place on Igualada tournament, Spain (16th category)
  • Winner of 6th Lausanne Young Masters festival with a 2984 performance rating

2007 - Participant of World Cup

2009 - Bronze medal winner as a member of Ukrainian team on 17th European Team Championship

2012

  • Winner Donostia Chess Festival San Sebastián (Spain)
  • Bronze medal of 40th Chess Olympiad as a member of Ukrainian team
