Born in Moscow, Russia at 1979. Repatriated to Israel at 1994, living in Jerusalem the capital, from day one.

I'm playing chess since the age of 7. My grandfather showed me the moves, and we played countless games, in which he always played with his full strength of 2nd category. This Sparthian method of education cost me a lot of tears, but I didn't quit. My father did, at that age, and he's grateful it saved him from chess obsession.

Being totally a home-grown and ICC (since 1996) player, I played my first real-life tournament at 1999 during an army leave, and I first joined the Jerusalem club at 2002. Starting at 1600 ELO, I slowly progressed to around 2000, however it was a particular game I lost which made me so mad, that I decided to start studying with professional coach. Thanks to lessons with Vladimir, I got myself to a certain level and I will keep on improving, hopefully. I think he is the best trainer for me.
